Cielo Permanente is a photo box created for the Origin Stories Project, combining physical Polaroid photographs with augmented reality. The work reflects on the theme of arrival through a personal exploration of “home” and belonging, shaped by a life lived between Venezuela and the United States.

The box contains a series of Polaroids depicting places I've considered home—Choroní’s Caribbean coastline, the streets of San Francisco, and the desert expanse of Twentynine Palms. Viewed through an AR app, each photograph becomes a portal, triggering short audiovisual narratives in English or Spanish that share personal memories and reflections connected to each location.

Through these layered images, Cielo Permanente contemplates the fluidity of home—not as a fixed location, but as an evolving state of being, shaped by adaptability, memory, and connection. The recurring motif of the sky serves as a unifying element across geographies, while birds symbolize the freedom to build one’s sense of belonging in many places.
